The Worcester Greenstar 24i System boiler sits in the middle of the range of Worcester’s system boilers in terms of power rating. This is a boiler that has been built with performance, efficiency and long term reliability in mind. All Worcester boilers are designed and manufactured in the UK, so not only can you be sure you’re getting an extremely well-made ‘built to last’ boiler, but you’re also helping the economy at home.
Around 60% of energy use in UK homes come from gas boilers. With this in mind it certainly helps to have a boiler that runs as efficiently as possible. Not only are gas bill savings of £250+ per year to be expected but reduced carbon emissions and carbon footprint are an added bonus of this super-efficient boiler model.
System boilers work by storing hot water in tanks, usually located in the loft. Typically on hot water needs to be stored and cold water can be piped straight from the mains, unlike op-vent boilers that store the cold water as well. This is in contrast to combi boilers that don’t store water at all but simply heat it on demand. The advantage is that less space is used and the overall heating efficiency is slightly higher – but there can be a slight loss in water pressure with a combi boiler if lots of hot water is flowing at a time.
