winter-fuel-payments-and-allowanceIt’s been a fairly warm Autumn so far in the UK so our boilers have been given a bit of a break, and as such our energy bills should be a little lighter than normal, but wouldn’t it be great if that was the case every year?

Well, our friends at BT have provided a little list of tips and tricks that could make that a reality and end up saving you quite a handsome amount on your energy bills.

It’s definitely worth noting that heating related tips feature quite regularly on the list, and that’s no surprise as around 60% of our energy bills stem from keeping our home nice and warm. The second point on the list suggests getting your boiler serviced if it is acting up, but it doesn’t mention that an old boiler can cost you in more than just repairs. If, as is the case with a lot of homes in the UK, your boiler is 10 or more years old it could fall into the G-Rated efficiency category, meaning it is 40% less effective than it should be.

The ‘Big Six’ energy companies are working with the government to offer free energy efficiency measures to make homes warmer and bring down energy bills for lower income households through the Energy Company Obligation (Eco).

What this translates into is that for every £1 on your energy bill, 40p is completely needless spending; seems a bit silly, doesn’t it? It gets even worse when you consider that that wastage could end up costing you £570 ever year. The article goes on to say that ‘around 13.5 million households in the UK are missing out on £2.7 billion by sticking with the same energy company’ but sticking with the same old boiler can be just as costly, if not costlier.

The government estimates around 13.5 million households in the UK are missing out on £2.7 billion by sticking with the same energy company.

At Hassle Free Boilers we only work with the most trusted, durable and energy efficient brands in the boiler industry, including Worcester Bosch, Ideal and Vaillant, and we install at no upfront cost to you. So something that doesn’t initially cost you anything could actually up saving you £570 a year. Our engineers can have your property surveyed and new boiler installed within 1-2 days, meaning it truly is a hassle free experience to start saving.
